Birthday Ideas

I'm torn. It's 17 days to go before Adley turns 2. Yep, how time flies and now I see him learning new words everyday.

Hmmm...birthday, birthday. So what's it gonna be Adley? I'll try to do mental telepathy and ask me what he would like for a birthday party. I know he'd love to have lots of playmates and well balloons.

Would it be lavish? No. Too costly, we'll save that up on preschool and when he turns 7.

Will it be a McDonald's Birthday Bash or would Jollibee and gang make up for that? How about a Disney party! Hahaha! Not a chance (for now :P)

I'm not going crazy, yet. But I do have more days to go and think about the most practical way to give him a party. I just wish his birthday would be a sunny day.

Anyway, any birthday ideas? One that is affordable and fun? :D

P.S. These photos are not mine. And am not claiming them as my own.

Uh, Ronald's pic doesn't look good over there. Nuh-uh. That's the only errr decent one I got from the net.

What will you do when the sun comes out?

Simple. Go out and play! :D The rarity of the sun this season is such a blessing to all of us.

It's been a week since our nose are spewing? mucuous. I know it sucks. Sneezing and consuming lots of tissue paper and getting your nose all red is not a party. I just wish this cold, cough leaves us soon. :D Anyway, enough of that talk. I am simply glad we were able to go out for a walk at Burnham Park. It's pretty day isn't it?

An Afternoon Snack at Pizza Hut

I was so happy to be able to see my parents again! It's been a while. Am I so glad that they went up here on my birthday and also, to see my adorable son.

So went to SM (a huge shopping mall chain in the Philippines) for shoppin' and to just simply bond with my folks. It did rain again, (since Friday) so we weren't able to stroll in the park as we would have loved to do. The fog's getting thicker so we decided to warm ourselves with a hearty snack.

Of course, you'd expect to see more Adley here but snapshots weren't taken further as he went hyper in the matter of 15 minutes! LOL.

Twenty-seven

I'd usually say, I can't believe it! I turned 27! But no. My reaction is more like added joy as every year passes by. I love the feeling of adding more years into my life. By coming into this world, I am aware that it will be such a wonderful adventure.

Oh, just look at my old selves. *points* The stubborn and free-spirited child has now become a Mommy! I once asked myself, "Yvie, what do you really want to be when you grow up." I didn't answer at first. I knew in the back of my mind that I would love to have a family---a happy family. I was so specific at what I wanted. I don't find it strange choosing this over my career. I am just confident that in any (career) path that I'll take, it'll always be great. All is well, so to speak.

27---barely 30 but the angst and all those teen hormones is long way gone! XD I now hum a different tune, I now skip a different beat, I now happily glide into consciousness with a positive belief, that this life---this earth is our heaven. :D

27 to 100+! XD!

I am so looking forward to a very beautiful life ahead of me---us. I don't worry about the future, I no longer dwell in the past. What matters is NOW. The now that is so beautiful, the me that has become so wonderful in many ways.

I believe that the best gift that you can give to yourself is love. Love in the context of accepting yourself, what you have become and who you're going to be.

And so as I close this entry with a smile, I say, "Happy birthday to me!"

If I'm not mistaken, I was uh...1 month old at this photo.Me and my lil' bro. :DAge 7. :PThis photo was taken when I was in Junior high.Slicing my cake, cute Adley's on the background.

Adley Won!

Yay! He won 5th place. The title? He's one of the healthiest baby in our barangay. (In case you're wondering what a barangay is, if you understand spanish; it is derived from the Spanish word "Barrio".)

Anyway, because of lack of health records of my son (which is actually only his height and weight)---he didn't get the first place. But it doesn't matter. I'm just glad that it was a nice day to come and interact with new people and of course my son had so much fun seeing lots of kids around. :)

When the sun comes out a little here, it means loads of fun. I hope for more sunlight for the next weeks to come.

Awwwe, look guys, look!

My heart melts whenever I see adorable animals, especially when it's a puppy!

Please welcome our pup, Melody. She's our new family member. Please, please give her a warm welcome.

P.S. Adley's really happy everytime he sees his pet. XD! But Melody gets scared when Adley attempts to touch him. Hahaha. My son knows how dogs bark and how cats mew. I'll try to capture a video of him caught in the act of making animal sounds. Something to make him laugh when he grows up.

On another note. I'm pretty excited about Friday. Hush hush. :D! I'm not telling yet. Though I already told some people and Facebook & Friendster will probably bug my friends about it.

What a Very Nice Sunday it is!

I love going out on the weekends and I especially love it more when I have someone to share it with! It has been a lovely weekend, it only rains in the afternoon so we have a lot of time in the morning to do the stuff we want and let the sun warm our skin a bit.

I just love, love this day! The photos speak for itself. *smiles*

A Sunny Day, At Last!

It was rainy and gloomy for the past few days, Adley, Mond and I are itching to go out of the house and go for a walk, like we usually do. It's so fun to go out on a sunny and warm day.

This morning, a health center representative dropped by our house to tell us that today is the day Adley competes with the other "healthy babies". I am thrilled about the idea of going there. People in the house joked around and told me, I might play the part of the "stage Mom". I don't know if you're familiar with this word but it's the Mom who always accompanies her talented child---she's the one who coaches and dances with her child in the sidelines. Um, not really my kind of thing!

Much to my relief, we're all there to bring the baby and the health records (immunization records, height and weight sheet, stuff like; is the baby breastfeed till his 6th month, et cetera, et cetera). That's basically where their base their criteria. So we waited a bit. Learned a thing or two about how important keeping these records. Hmmm...I'm not really a paper-person but, yes I do keep a lot of things and that I would say most of my cherished mementos. It was only when I got married and had a baby that I was able to come across lots of documents; medical, our marriage certificate, licenses, health care benefits---oh too much paper work! But hey, I can manage. *smiles*

Anyway, let's leave the paper talk.

So when you're faced with lots of kids and it takes forever to finish; you're bound to see crying and wiggling kids. Lol.

To sum up the story. Adley didn't win. :D But yeah, with or without those documents, he is definitely healthy and happy. No doubt about it. It doesn't really matter. What they've just told me is that I should always keep in mind to monitor his weight and growth. And those documents blah blah blah are also needed for school (they're gonna look into it). Now, these things really make me feel uncomfortable. Oh well it's just me. Finally the contest is done! Off to McDonald's we go!

And so here are the photos. Enjoy!

P.S. It's so fun playing with my child in the playplace. Hahaha! No one bothered stopping me going into those tunnels. It's tiring but it's so damn fun! :D I'd like to try this again. Hubby also wished he could fit in. :P Well we better find a bigger place to go to!
