Nelson Lodge Day 4
AKA all good things must come to an end. What a wonderful few days. Thank you to our amazing family for hosting, playing, visiting, eating and everything else. Is it time to come back yet?!
Ella decided she needed to be a big girl and start standing up on her own...as in no hands.

Dave's Birthday at Nelson Lodge
We had a big ol'birthday brunch in honor of the main man in our lives! Happy birthday Daddy! Here's to a wonderful 30th year!
Sylvia got to enjoy a lengthy outdoor adventure with Papa followed up by some post adventure watermelon.
Savannah and Mikayla were great and played with Sylvia and Ella endlessly. Thank you girls!

Nelson Lodge Day 2 = SNOW!
Yeah for snow! Ella's first even! She loved it of course. Sylvia couldn't get enough. We leisurely spent the day playing pounce, eating left overs and playing in the snow!
Later it was over to Danny And Julie's for some excellent Chili. While the ladies and kids decorated ornaments the guys got to go out to the shop for some poker (and scotch?).

Thanksgiving at Nelson Lodge!
The second annual trek over the mountains and through the woods to Nelson Lodge was a success!
A complete success- All of the west coasters arrived on time and safely the night before. We got to wake up and start the all day food fest. With all of the cooks in the kitchen we had a wonderful assortment of flavors and options. Sarah's amazing baked goods kept us coming back for more- nordi bars, pumpkin muffins and bread. YUM. I tried an Orange Chili Glaze for the turkey (my first turkey prep) and a Chorizo Cornbread Stuffing. I'd recommend the stuffing...the glaze was good but not incredibly memorable. (Which leaves the option for something new next year!). Krista's mashers were amazing like usual. Julie along with Jacks help provided the vegi's and pies and spiced cider. I'm getting hungry again just writing this! Thanks to Aunt Cherry and Uncle Andy for there non stop help in the kitchen. Everything ran so smooth that we actually had Thanksgiving dinner at 3:30pm! A family record!
Next were ginger bread houses! Our family tradition for as long as I can remember. Sylvia was so excited she was running around the house covering her mouth with big eyes yelling for all of the kids "IT'S TIME FOR GINGER BREAD HOUSES!!!" She did a great job with hers...sample some candy, put on some candy, sample some candy.
My Thankful list:
Family!, time together, cousins, wonderful lodging to allow this adventure to happen, the wonderful hosts, trucks to drive over the mountains and through the woods, heat indoors, cold outdoors, health, good food, and such an amazing family to nurture our souls!
Is it next year yet?!
